Another PSU Victim Comes Forward – WHP TV 21 Exclusive

Comments Off

In a CBS 21 News exclusive in the ongoing Sandusky child sex scandal, a local Harrisburg law firm is representing another alleged victim who has come forward.

Attorneys tell only CBS 21 that they plan to file the suit in the next few weeks.

This man’s attorneys tell us the media attention and word that so many others were victimized made him realize he wasn’t alone.

“When all of the publicity came out, that made him realize there were a lot more people involved than just himself,” explained Attorney Chuck Schmidt.

The 19-year-old man reached out to the Schmidt Kramer law firm three weeks ago. He said he was 12 at the time and a member of the Second Mile program.

Sandusky singled him out and the former coach brought him to a Penn State athletic department office and abused him while a Second Mile event was going on.

“At the time he was vulnerable, his mom passed away, his dad was ill,” Schmidt added.

Schmidt will only say the abuse falls into the category of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse. Before coming to the law firm the young man went to authorities and now police continue to investigate the claims.

Attorney Chuck Schmidt of Harrisburg law firm Schmidt Kramer says he is hearing the number of alleged victims could now stand between 50 and 75. It’s the media attention that actually helped the victim face the attack.

“It gave him the courage to come forward and report it to authorities,” Schmidt stated.

The alleged victim never heard from Sandusky again but dropped out of the Second Mile program following the attack and a few years later did participate in an event for older boys.

When the firm completes their own investigation they will file the lawsuit against Penn State, The Second Mile and Sandusky.
