Police have arrested a Virginia man after a Chambersburg man was taken to Milton S. Hershey Medical Center following a crash January 4, 2011 on I-81 in Southampton Township, Cumberland County, sourth of Harrisburg. The Pennsylvania State Police believe that a Lexus LX470 driven by Roberto C. Barahona, 37, of Midlothian, Va., came up behind Bruce E. Hann, 48, Chambersburg, at a high rate of speed and struck the rear end of Hann’s Ford Taurus. This caused Hann’s vehicle to spin out of control and roll down over an embankment. He was taken to Hershey with moderate injuries.
Barahona appears to have continued north on I-81, was located at the Roadway Motel off Exit 29 and was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with DUI, aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, leaving the scene of the accident, and numerous traffic violations.
