Reports from Sunbury and Shamokin, Pennsylvania indicate that two Northumberland County residents died in a head-on crash on October 30, 2011 near Lykens Township in which one of the vehicles burst into flames. Pennsylvania state police believe Michael Dewey Anderson of Dalmatia, and Taralee Moyer of Sunbury, died in the crash along North Crossroads Road, near Phillips Road in northern Dauphin County just outside of Harrisburg.

Anderson appears to have been driving north on North Crossroads Road when his car entered the southbound lane and struck Moyer’s car. Upon arriving at the scene, police said Anderson’s auto was fully engulfed in flames.

This time of year it is important to be extra cautious when driving on rural roads. The weather will only become worse and driving conditions more dangerous on these roads as we enter into Winter.
