One person was killed and four people injured in two serious car wrecks in Schuylkill County, Central Pennsylvania on March 14, 2012. The Pottsville Republican Herald is reporting that two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash North Manheim Township. Earlier in the day, one person was killed and two were injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon along Route 443 in McKeansburg. The car accidents occurred eight miles apart from one another.

The first wreck occurred at 5:01 p.m. at Market and Chestnut streets in McKeansburg. Trooper Andrew Letcavage of state police at Frackville said the crash involved two people in a Lincoln Town Car and one person in a van. Deputy Coroner Andrew Szczyglak said the passenger was Joyce Dowling, 81. The driver of the van was John Schrader, 61, of New Ringgold.

In the second crash that occurred at 5:30 p.m., two people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck on Hemlock Drive in North Manheim Township. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash occurred as a Ford F-250 pickup truck was being driven west on Hemlock Drive by a 16-year-old boy. Police said the pickup left its travel lane while rounding a right turn and struck a Toyota 4Runner being driven east by Robert Ulaner, 61, of Orwigsburg
